Matches over the weekend

I have quite a few bets in for this weekend, so the next status update won't be posted until Sunday evening.

First I've chosen the Championship match between Swansea and Cardiff, with the last as a winner. Cardiff have been very strong so far this season, and as I mentioned in an earlier post, with Michael Chopra in front I can't see Cardiff losing points on this one. Swansea haven't impressed me at all this season at home, only scoring 5 goals in 7 matches so far. Although they've only lost one match, I believe a second defeat will be added to them in tomorrows match, as Cardiff seems unstoppable away from home, notching up 4 wins in 7 games, scoring 14 goals (apart from Middlesbrough, they're the most scoring away team).
€20 on Cardiff to win, odds 17/10.

Next is my first bet this year on an accumulator, I've marked my (hopefully) winning teams.
Bristol Rovers - Southampton, odds 5/4
Empoli - Reggina, odds Evens
Notts County - Bradford, odds 4/6
Bayer Leverkusen - Eintracht Frankfurt, odds 4/11
€10 on the 4 winners, with a potential win of a little over 100 euros.

In Serie A, I've chosen Milan to win away from home against capital side Lazio. The hometeam have been terrible so far in my opinion, and the 1-4 defeat away last night to Villareal is another proof if their horrible form.
€10 on Milan to win, odds 6/5

A couple of matches from the German leagues as well, first off the 2nd Bundesliga match between Kaiserslautern and Oberhausen. The Kaisers are well on track to gain a promotion seat, and I can't see why Oberhausen should be the team to stop them from achieving this. Although Kaiserslautern have lost at home already after 5 matches, Oberhausens away form isn't too impressive although they've notched up a couple of wins.
€20 on Kaiserslautern to win, odds 8/15

Next is the first league, the rivalry between Bayern Munich and Schalke 04. Bayern have had their worst league start in many years, but with the addition of Arjen Robben to the squad, they seem to have gained the old spirit back. Bayern haven't lost at home yet, Schalke haven't lost away yet, so it could smell a bit of a draw, but I believe that Bayern will turn out the superior team in this match.
€20 on Bayern Munich to win, odds 7/10

Finally we'll have a look at the League 1 encounter between Oldham Athletic and Leeds United. Leeds have been fighting for promotion the last couple of years and miserably failed, so this year it must be their turn. While Leeds have been flying away from home this year, Oldham have failed to impress their supporters on home turf, and with Leeds well in front of the league, 7 points ahead of Charlton, I can't see why they shouldn't get this win.
€20 on Leeds to win, odds 11/10

Back in business

After quite some time without playing, I finally got started again last night, with a very positive outcome. All 4 matches went home, Roma winning at home to Fulham 2-1, Shaktar Donetsk win away over Toulouse, Galatasaray trashing Dinamo Bukarest 3-0, and finally Panathinaikos who brought home a 1-0 victory from Sturm Graz.

So like I said, a very positive outcome, with total winnings just below 60 euro (€59,81). Follow next post for tonights bettings.

Europa League 1st Round

I've picked out two winners (I hope) in tonights Europa League 1st Round, 2nd Leg matches.
Sigma Olomouc vs. Everton and Hearts vs. Dinamo Zagreb. For Everton as well as Zagreb goes, that they both won the first match by 4-0, which could make me fear that they won't start with strongest setup, however I believe that both of them should be able to get wins tonight, Everton especially, where David Moyes troups really have something to prove to their fans after a miserable opening to the Premier League this year.
Zagreb have had the direct opposite and are after the 5 first matches leading the Croatian first division, scoring and amazing 21 (!) goals, also notching up 2 clean sheets.

My bets:
€20 on Everton to win, odds 11/10
€20 on Dinamo Zagreb to win, odds 11/8

Last nights results

You win some, you lose some. I believe that yesterdays results reflect on this good old saying. The match between Apoel Nicosia and FC Copenhagen was quickly lost, after only 18 minutes of play the danes were trailing 2-0 and the final result of 3-1 means they don't even qualify for the group stages.

In Leyton Orient v. Stoke 4 minutes was the difference between win and lose. Since my bet was only valid for the first 90 minutes, I recorded second loss out of two.

Fortunately Cardiff and Tottenham got the job done well and saved the night, and my instict about a goal rich match between Doncaster and Spurs turned out to be right.

Last nights bettings : €45
Last nights winnings: €45.10

A slightly modest addition to the total profit, but it could've been a lot worse.

2009 profit now is at €17.79

Champions League Qualification Play Offs 2nd Betting round

Just as yesterday, I've decided to bet on a single match from the CL qualification Play Offs, the 2nd leg between Apoel Nicosia and FC Copenhagen.
In all fairness my knowledge of football in Cyprus is very limited, which is also why I'm not betting half a fortune on tonights match, however the season opening in the league from FC Copenhagen has been far from what their fans would consider acceptable, and this may well be caused by the fact that Solbakken have decided to put all focus on qualifying for the CL group stages.
My bet : €5 on FC Copenhagen to win, odds 17/10
